WellDatabase shows you the wells. WellCollar runs yours.
WellDatabase is a public data platform: every well, permit and production record across the US and Western Canada, with maps and analytics. WellCollar is the software an operator runs the company on: field entry, state filings, owners, revenue and JIBs. If you came here looking for something to manage your own wells, this page explains the difference.

Which one do you actually need?
Pick WellDatabase if you're evaluating acreage, offsets or completions across many states, or feeding public data into your own models. That's what it's built for.
Pick WellCollar if you operate wells and need somewhere to record what your pumpers see, file with the state, pay owners and bill partners. It's run every day by Green Collar Energy, an Ohio operator.
Use both if you do both. They don't overlap much.

WellDatabase vs WellCollar: quick answers
Is WellCollar a replacement for WellDatabase?
Usually not one-for-one. WellDatabase is a public well data and analytics platform covering the US and Western Canada. WellCollar is operations software for running your own wells: field entry, state filings, owners, revenue and JIBs. Some operators use a data platform and operations software side by side.
Can WellCollar research other operators' wells?
Yes, for Ohio. WellCollar's Acquisition Scout looks up any Ohio operator's wells, production and open violations. For decline curves or data across every state, a dedicated data platform like WellDatabase goes further.
Does WellCollar handle my own production and state reports?
Yes. Pumpers enter gauges and run tickets in the field, offline if needed, and WellCollar builds state production reports for Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Texas from that data.
How much does WellCollar cost?
Core starts at $4 per well per month ($199 minimum). Complete includes every module for $7 per well ($499 minimum). Unlimited users, month-to-month.
